Just in time for March Madness, Wendy’s has launched a promotion that offers prizes, such as a chance to win free food instantly or a trip Atlanta to see the NCAA Men’s Final Four in 2020.
“Wendy’s knows that being a fan can be tough – between filling out the perfect bracket to your team losing on a half-court buzzer beater,” the fast food chain wrote in a press release March 11.
Customers who purchase a large drink from March 11 through April 7 have a chance of winning prizes through the company’s mobile app. During the contest, participants who purchase a large size, cold beverage in a promotional cup at a participating Wendy’s restaurant will receive an official game piece with a peel-off sticker, while supplies last. Customers can also obtain a free game piece without making a purchase at a Wendy’s by hand-printing their name, street address, day and evening phone numbers, email address, and date of birth on a 3-inch by-5-inch piece of paper along with a self-addressed stamped envelope and mail it in an envelope with postage to: “Wendy’s Take Your Shot Instant Win – Free Sticker,” c/o HelloWorld, Inc., P.O. Box 5021, Department 839258, Kalamazoo, MI 49003-5021 – while supplies last.
“As the Official Hamburger of the NCAA for the third consecutive year, we’re kicking it up a notch and offering fans more value than ever before,” said Kurt Kane, Wendy’s executive vice president, chief concept and marketing officer. “We encourage all fans to get in on March Madness and ‘Take Your Shot’. With plenty of prizes and promotions, Wendy’s is keeping fans fueled all tournament long.” Grand prize winners must mail their sticker via trackable mail to the address to claim their prize. Prize claims must be postmarked by April 22, 2019 and received by April 29, 2019.
There are a total of four grand prizes being given away during this promotion. The first is a trip package for the winner and one guest to travel to the NCAA Men’s Final Four tournament, tentatively scheduled for April 4 and 6, 2020. The trip consists of round trip, coach-class air transportation for two from a major airport near the winner’s home with up to four nights of accommodation at a hotel, chosen by the sponsor. The winner will receive two tickets to the semi-final games on Saturday, April 4, 2020 and two tickets to the Final Four game on Monday, April 6, 2020. The winner will also be provided $500 for spending money and local transportation and travel agent services. More than 48,000 first prizes will be given away, which consists of a $5 Wendy’s digital account credit, redeemable through the Wendy’s mobile app.
Wendy’s, the exclusive Coca-Cola Freestyle launch partner for the new Orange Vanilla Coke, will offer the new beverage at participating locations. The company also stated that more mobile offers will be announced throughout the NCAA tournament.
