Samsung revealed its new Galaxy A Series Feb. 25 with the rollout of two initial smartphones – the Galaxy A50 and A30.
The new series touts “upgrades to essential device features,” including a longer-lasting performance, better device viewing and upgrades to its camera.
“We are committed to providing meaningful progress to everyone for a better mobile experience, and that innovation starts with the upgraded Galaxy A Series,” said DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics. “People are changing the way they connect, and their smartphones need to keep up. Our new Galaxy A Series offers improvements to the essential features that will support these live interactions, with diverse options to meet their ever-changing needs.”
The Galaxy A50 features a triple camera, designed to “replicate human eyesight.” The triple camera has an ultra-wide lens that has an “intelligent switch” function for wide-angle shots. The main camera boasts 25 megapixels for shooting vivid images in daylight and darkness. The main camera also has depth lens and a Live Focus feature so the user can choose where to focus the shot. The AI Camera has a scene-optimizer feature, including 20 different scenes and flaw detection.
The Galaxy A50 also comes with fingerprint unlocking technology and will be available in four colors – black, white, blue and coral. The A50 will have the option of 4 or 6 gigabytes of RAM, 64 or 128 gigabytes of internal storage, and up to 512 gigabytes of storage with a Micro SD card.
The Galaxy A30 comes with a 4,000mAh, fast charging battery and an edge-to-edge 6.4 inch Super AMOLED Infinity-U display. The A30 includes a dual camera, including an Ultra Wide-angle lens, and a Rear Fingerprint unlocking feature as well as intuitive Face Unlock. The A30 will have the option of 3 or 4 gigabytes of RAM, 32 or 64 gigabytes of internal storage, and up to 512 gigabytes of storage with a Micro SD card.
Prices for the Galaxy A series have not been indicated by Samsung yet, and the phone will launch in India and international markets soon, according to XDA developers.
