A Metro Detroit area mailman was delivering mail on a hot July afternoon on his usual route.

He passed by a Kool-aid stand, owned and operated by 5-year-old Adam Houssami, and wanted to parch his thirst on a hot day. However, the mailman realized he did not have any money on him to purchase a drink. According to WXYZ News, Houssami offered the man a drink anyway, telling him “he could still have some” although the mailman did not have any money.

The next week when Houssami and his mother checked the mail, they found a note with a surprise. The note read, “Adam, remember last week you were selling Kool-aid on a hot day? I didn’t have any money but you offered me Kool-aid anyways. Thanks man! I was really thirsty. Good things happen to people like you. Stay cool dude – Mailman.”

Along with the note, there was a $20 bill for Houssami’s gesture of kindness. Houssami’s act of kindness went viral and spread positivity around the internet. One small act expecting nothing in return can mean the world to someone.
