When you think of Arizona, you probably aren’t thinking of hockey.  With all the excitement of Spring Training for Baseball, and the Waste Management golf tournament you might forget about hockey.  But Glendale, AZ is home to the states very own hockey team, The Arizona Coyotes.  Home games are held at the Gila River Arena, and are just as rowdy as any other NHL event.  Coyotes fans are know as the “People of Our Pack”, and show a strong presence at games, held in the Glendale Westgate District.  “People of Our Pack” are noticed and have photos displayed on the Coyotes website.  Showing love to dedicated fans is a big part of the Coyotes way.

Coyotes also give back to the community in their own special way.  The Arizona Coyotes Foundation supports non-profits that promote healthcare, education, and arts programs.  These programs are utilized by children and service men and women.  The Coyotes underwent new ownership in 2013, and a major component that the owners wanted to develop was community spirit and giving back.  Local residents, as well as Corporate Sponsors help to drive these efforts and provide support.

A huge part of fund raising for The Arizona Coyotes Foundation is a 50/50 raffle.  Raffle tickets can be purchased at games, online, or via the Arizona Coyotes mobile app.  Winners are announced live at each Coyotes home game.  All proceeds go to The Arizona Coyotes Foundation.

If you are a local planning on attending a Coyotes game, you will want to purchase your tickets in advance.  You can do so on the Coyotes website.  You will also want to plan accordingly for parking, as the Westgate parking lots can fill up quickly.  Parking lot prices can vary from about $10-$25, depending on proximity to the Gila Rive Arena.  If you prefer to take an Uber, there is a pick-up and drop-off area just outside of the Gila River Arena.  Lines can be long to enter the parking lots close to game time so you may want to arrive early.

If you are an out of town visitor traveling to catch a game, there is a Renaissance Hotel right next to the Arena, inside the Westgate Shopping Center.  There is also a Springhill Suites within walking distance to the Arena.  Be sure to ask about special rates for Coyotes fan’s.  Be sure to purchase your 50/50 raffle tickets for a chance to win various prizes, announced at the third quarter of each home game.
