Every year in Tolleson, AZ there is a founders Whoopee Dave Festival. This years festival is just around the corner, featuring many events taking place April 5-7 in Tolleson, AZ. The three day festival will be held in the Tolleson Veterans Park located on Van Buren Street and 86th Avenue. This festival is jam packed with so many activities for the whole family. Performances, tournaments and carnival rides await as well as local vendor and sponsorship opportunities.
Carnival rides will be taking place all three days of the festival. For a $20 wristband, you will have access to unlimited rides for an entire day of the Whoopee Daze Festival. Day one of the festival includes live DJs and music performances as well as a Corn Hole Tournament on the baseball field. Entrance for the tournament is $40 per team, or $20 per person, and all proceeds benefit the Tolleson High School Football Club. There are cash prizes for first, second and third place tournament winners. Registration will open at 6:00 pm.
Day two of the festival starts off with a 5k run/ walk followed by a parade. Early afternoon activities include dance performances by the Scorpion Dance Company, as well as children’s activities out on the lawn. There will be more musical performances throughout the day as well as live DJs. You will hear a bit from the mayor of Tolleson and the night finishes off with a performance by Ram Herrera. If you want to keep on dancing into the night there will be a final DJ who plays until about 11:30 pm. This jam packed day delivers options for any age and many areas of interest for Tolleson locals.
The third and final day of the Whoopee Daze Festival will hold a 16″ Softball Tournament bright and early at 8:00 am. And perhaps the most fun of the festival, the Whoopee Factor contest begins Sunday at 1:00 pm. This live contest is themed after the television show “Fear Factor” where contestants are challenged to do anything from eating rare insects to daring sports activities. The rest of the day holds more live music and winds down a bit earlier by 9:00 pm.
Whoopee Daze also features Tolleson local food and retail vendors as well. Food stands, food trucks, crafts and product vendors are all up and running during all three days of the festival.
